I started in 3D when I became obsessed with AR as a the logical solution solving the modern Digital Nomad workstation. I started burning through the online resources and they all really foregrounded either Blender or C++ and, well that’s not even a choice.

My course project for Circuit Stream’s XR Prototyping course in late 2024 was an MR prototype of Cher’s iconic closet from Clueless. In the midst of the very specific and drawn-out horror that is trying to get Unity to build to an Oculus on a Mac, I could take relaxing breaks to create the prettiest UI elements I could in Blender.
I revisited a UI kit I had created for an AR game jam earlier in the year, and applied my Cher’s Closet palette and tone. This style looks so, so cute in Bezi, so I put some of the elements in there and built a few proto interactions for my final project, including a keyboard interaction that is somewhat redundant but also - importantly - completely adorable.
The CS course required us to explore ways to build and communicate interactions for XR pre-development. I built out a few different experiments across Bezi, Figma, Snapchat to utilise their specific virtues (Unity continued to outfox me). Check out my portfolio for specifics, but rest assured the UX in these interfaces was tested and improved during the process :)
