With a team from KoreMeta, we entered the inaugural UN Citiverse Challenge in the Startups category with a fun Augmented Reality recipe scavenger-hunt game concept.
Our team wanted to explore digital city mapping and accessible technologies in combination with cultural food rituals, to honour the founding mission of KoreMeta. Our team was distributed across the globe during the project, between Korea, India, Nigeria and Australia, and we were struck by how each country had specific, obsessive, unique food cultures. We interpreted the Citiverse brief as a call to create and use a utopian, interwoven global network of digital citiscapes in which the most accessible technological entry points are the most distributed. I identified Geoguessr as a way of jumping into locations regardless of physical geography, and geocaching as a really sticky tried-and-tested community, and we decided to add Pokemon GO-style rewards and explore the combination as a personalised, crowdsourced scavenger hunt.
We were very proud to proceed to the shortlisted round with our submission. You can see that project at IntangibleXR.
